Herringbone Pattern

With the herringbone pattern, the wooden floorboards are placed against each other at an angle of 90 degrees. This creates a motif that resembles a herringbone. The herringbone pattern is a timeless installation pattern that can be used in both a classic and modern interior.

The herringbone floorboards are available in different lengths and widths. The wider the floorboards, the calmer the room appears.

Variations on the Herringbone Pattern

Double Herringbone

With the double herringbone, two herringbone floor parts are placed next to each other. This gives the herringbone pattern a wider and slightly calmer appearance than the single herringbone.

Triple herringbone

With the triple herringbone, three herringbone floor parts are placed next to each other, so that a wide point is created in the herringbone pattern. In terms of appearance, this is the most tranquil herringbone floor.

Elbow Pattern

With the elbow pattern you give a unique twist to the herringbone pattern by turning the planks a quarter turn. The play of lines and light therefore becomes different and provides a unique experience.

Double Elbow

The double elbow gives a slightly calmer appearance to your floor than the single elbow pattern, because two floorboards are always placed next to each other.

Triple Elbow

If you like wide floor patterns and calmness, the triple elbow is a good choice.

Chevron Pattern

With the chevron floor, the wooden planks are installed at an angle of 45 or 60 degrees, creating a point-like pattern.

This pattern adds a sense of depth and texture to the floor and fits in both a classic and modern interior. The chevron pattern has become very popular because of its contemporary look and versatility.

Chevron pattern Alternatim

With this pattern, the floorboards of the chevron floor are installed straight on top of each other, creating a special dynamic towards the sides of the room.

Chevron pattern Alternatim Double

The alternatim double provides a slightly calmer appearance in the room.

Chevron pattern Continuus

In this installation pattern two equal parts of the Chevron floor are placed in line with each other, which lengthens the point. The Chevron pattern Continuus looks best in larger spaces.

Chevron pattern Stretcher Bond

With the klezoren bond, the floorboards are placed straight instead of at an angle. This creates a pattern that resembles the plank pattern, but with a unique artistic twist.

Installation Methods For Wooden Floors

A wooden floor can be installed in different ways: directly glued or floating. A glued wooden floor provides a solid and robust sound. Floating linstallation is a good choice for apartments. This is because a floating floor ensures noise reduction, so that you meet the noise standards of the VvE.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much do the different installation patterns cost?

The price of a wooden floor is not only influenced by the installation pattern . For example, the wood specie , the thickness of the top layer and the color also influence the price. As an indication, you can take the following prices into account (2023): chevron floor from € 199,- including VAT per m2 Herringbone floor from € 179,- including VAT per m2 Plank floor from € 128, including VAT per m2

Is it easy to install a wooden floor yourself?

No, the installation of wooden floors requires craftsmanship. Moreover, you get a warranty if you leave the installation of the floor to us. Nevertheless, you can choose to install the floor yourself (see our installation instructions ), but for the best result, hire a parquet installer .

Can the wooden floor be installed without skirting boards?

Yes, for a minimalist look you can choose to install the wooden floor without skirting boards. Because we use lamel parquet, the effect of the wooden floor is minimal. This allows us to install the floorboards flush against the wall.

What maintenance does the wooden floor need?

In principle, regular vacuuming and mopping is sufficient to maintain the floor. Depending on how intensively the floor is used, the floor must be finished with maintenance oil once every few years.

What wood species do you use for the floor?

We mainly work with oak wood that comes from sustainably managed European forests. Oak wood is strong and easy to work with, making it very suitable for various installation patterns .
